The way a child's breath smells throughout the day is due to a number of factors but relies heavily on what they eat during the day and their dental hygiene. In addition, poor health can have an effect on the aroma coming from their mouth. If your child is consuming a number of sugary foods and carbohydrates then this may be the source of their bad breath. As a result, there are a few kid-friendly foods that you can introduce into your child's diet in order to get rid of their bad breath.

Homemade Applesauce

A large reason why your child may be suffering from bad breath is because their dental hygiene is lacking. Poor dental hygiene will promote the growth of bacteria which will in turn result in a negative odor. Apples contain chemical compounds that are effective at killing bacteria. It is an easy food that your child can eat during the day to freshen their breath. To make this kid-friendly, you can throw the apples in a food processor to make homemade applesauce.

Yogurt

Yogurt contains active cultures that fight against any bacteria that is growing inside of your child's mouth. In order to get the best results from yogurt, it is important to consume it multiple times a day.The easiest way to serve your child yogurt is by topping it with fruits, nuts, and even chocolate. You can also create a kid-friendly milkshake using fruit, yogurt, and milk.

Oranges

Vitamin C has the ability to kill off bacteria in your mouth and make it difficult for them to continue growing in there. This is the same bacteria that cause bad breath later on in the day. As a result, eating citrus fruits like oranges is a good way to keep your child's breath in check. The best time to consume oranges is after a meal. If your child is unable to brush their teeth immediately after a meal, then you can give them a few orange slices to eat instead.

Chronic bad breath can be embarrassing for adults as well as children to deal with. Persistent bad breath may require a trip to the dentist as this may be a sign of tooth decay. Without knowing the cause of your child's bad breath, it can be difficult to come up with a solution. Therefore, add these foods to your child's diet to see if their breath improves.
